1. Concept drawing 1 - the main performance stage set up in studio. Black background behind where I will stand. Lighting will be on me. In front of me will be a sheer black fabric to act as the 'veil' between the Deaf and Hearing community. It will easily slide down with a gentle pull after I have played my hands all over the fabric after signing the first part of the poem. On the right is a test set up of the sheer black fabric against black wall background and with lighting, and looks to work out well. 2. Concept drawing 1 - the performance steps and installation layout plans. This includes after-performance installation of projecting the video onto sheer fabric hanging from roof with poem on it. 3. The Auslan Movement, a performance in the Melbourne Fringe in 2019 at the Brunswick Mechanics Institute. Photo by Raphael Kaleb. 4. The Deaf Circle, an Auslan sculptural installation in the Noel Counihan Art Prize exhibition as a finalist n 2019. The Auslan sculptures were created from spatial movements of the sign language Auslan during The Auslan Movement performance. Artwork dimensions: 90 x 90 cm |
